Bio

Michael is a multi-talented musician, playing guitars, kit & percussion and cello, as well as his main instruments of piano and vocals. He trained classically before going on to study a BA (Hons) in Popular Music Studies at Bretton Hall Arts College, University of Leeds.

As a Musical Director, Michael has a number of credits to his name, including Carnival Messiah (Royal Albert Hall, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Queens Hall Trinidad, Harewood House), Animal Farm (Redditch Palace Theatre), Jack & The Beanstalk (Redditch Palace Theatre),Beauty & The Beast (Redditch Palace Theatre, Broxbourne Civic Hall), Peter Pan (Redditch Palace Theatre), A Waiting Room For Journeying Souls (Leicester Peepul Centre), Fire In Ice (West Yorkshire Playhouse) and Candyland (Selfridges). Michael has also played and programmed for a number of other shows, including Little Shop Of Horrors and The Lion The Witch & The Wardrobe.

A skilled composer and producer in his own right, as well as his 2005 self-produced album No Explanation (available at iTunes and www.michael-lovelock.com), Michael is also a commissioned composer and has recently composed music for the Teaching Awards and the opening ceremony of the 2009 GB Special Olympics, as well as arranging for the BBC.

Aside from performing, Michael is the managing director of Artsphere Ltd (www.artsphere.co.uk), the UK online creative arts network, and is heavily involved in the promotion of the arts and particularly new work across the UK.
