Alongside his writing and theatre work, Michael also regularly plays keyboards and bass for a variety of bands and acts.
With his classical training, excellent sight reading and great ear, Michael is adept at picking up any material extremely quickly. He’s comfortable in a wide variety of styles and genres and is a natural improviser.
He can regularly be found gigging at events, functions and weddings across the country with his regular band, Funk City Party Band, and When not out with Funk City, he is often called upon to ‘dep’ for a number of other bands and agencies, including Yes Entertainment, Capital Groove, The Artist Network and The Double Measures, to name a few.

Michael’s equipment includes the Roland RD700, Roland Juno, Korg SG Pro X and the classic Korg M1, alongside a live Macbook Pro / Mainstage Rig, giving live access to some of the highest quality sample libraries available.
As a bass player, Michael favours the Fender Jazz through a Harke HA3500.
